"What is the meaning and importance of Jesus' Last Supper?
The "Last Supper" is what we call the last meal Jesus ate with His disciples before His betrayal and arrest. The Last Supper (L.S.) is recorded in the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew 26:17–30; Mark 14:12–26; Luke 22:7–30). It was more than Jesus’ last meal; it was a Passover meal, as well. One of the important moments of the Last Supper is Jesus’ command to remember what He was about to do on behalf of all mankind: shed His blood on the cross thereby paying the debt of our sins (Luke 22:19).
In addition to predicting His suffering and death for our salvation (Luke 22:15–16), Jesus also used the Last Supper to imbue the Passover with new meaning, institute the New Covenant, establish an ordinance for the church, and foretell Peter’s denial of Him (Luke 22:34) and Judas Iscariot’s betrayal (Matthew 26:21–24)."
As a way to honor Jesus for His sacrifice I wanted to make a tablecloth with this fabric panel when I saw it for sale on the Heaven Fabric Shop (HFS) website. Along with the L.S. panel the HFS also carries accompanying fabrics that go really well with the panel which I used to surround the panel. The HFS doesn't have the L.S. panel in stock at the moment but I found it as well at the Hobby Lobby website.
I'm not sure what you get your hands into but working with fabric or yarn really brings me joy even if the finished product isn't perfect upon completion. I know God knows what's in my heart.
